Another visit to the classics, in this case, a modern classic, Clive Barker, one of the first of many (I hope) that bring a literary flare to horror writing. We will discuss his Books of Blood, movies Hellraiser and Nightbreed and the joint interview book he did with Stephen King.

This one is interesting because there were a great number of thought-provoking points, yet myself (personally) I have never thought much good of Clive Barker's work. Touched upon so many revelant points! I agree, modern cinema and literature far too often panders to 'victimhood' whereas the villain isn't REALLY the bad guy, and with a sequel (or prequel) are discovered to have a reason or excuse to be the way they are. I understand and agree with the idea of having the villain being relatable (to a degree) but sometimes they are simply wrong and bad/evil. Get over it. Not everybody is good. Again I couldn't agree more with you on the topic of addiction (and identifying and acknowledging that religion CAN be another form of it.) Don't get me going on this one. (I've gotten in trouble before making reference at a particular church to some of its participants willfully imbuing "Jesus-juice".) As usual, thought provoking and great podcast! Keep up the good work!
