Jana Vasilj-Begovic as always I am grateful for the commentary and insight. Regarding any humor it’s more an accidental product of my background. I don’t set out to be funny. Wish I know how to be funny on command. But I’m not good at that. Ha.

Listening to your podcast and laughing over your comments how writing is unsexy and how we need our own BS monitor saved me from the drudgery of cleaning up after our guests left. I id not even notice the time fly by while doing the dishes.Rewriting is, indeed an important topic to discuss. Just like editing, rewriting can be endless because there is always room for improving the plot or for building more plausible characters. Before my first novel was published, the editor asked me to rewrite a character in a way that would make him more distinct from the heroine. It was an excellent observation by this editor that the 2 characters sounded too much alike, and I did the required rewriting. Just like you, I put aside my writing and go back to it with fresh eyes when I can spot inconsistencies and weaknesses better. Another reason why I like to put my writing aside for longer periods is because I start missing the characters, and I return to the rewriting process with joy and excitement over seeing the characters again. A great show, Mark. J Begovic
