The twin factors of Fear and Faith intertwine our existence like speeding atoms smashing the invisible world. How we curtain and harness these forces may very well shape our destinies as writers and perhaps as productive human beings.

I am sure every writer can relate to the subject of this show. I do not remember which writer it was who said that publishing his work made him feel as if he had let his child play in traffic. Another compared it to going out in public with your pants down. Yes, writers are often plagued with fear and I had to convince a couple of them to submit their work to Ariel Chart. Faith grows as our work receives recognition. I so agree with you when you say we should not think that we are writing for 10.000 people, that if our words truly reach or touch two, we have accomplished a lot. Sometimes, our words fit the shape of someone's wound and help it heal. And those who can write should use that magic to help effect changes in the world and point to injustices, evil etc. I wrote a short story as a protest against trophy hunting, because killing to satisfy such a base lust horrifies me. I am yet to find a journal to accept it. Hope this show gives impetus and encouragement to those writers who are still reticent about sharing their work. J Begovic
